About
Spåtind – a mountain destination
Spåtind Muntain Lodge enjoys a stunning location in Synnfjell, a mountain range between Lillehammer and Fagernes. In winter, the destination offers some of best snow conditions in Eastern Norway and is a true skier’s paradise. In summer, the area is lush and beautiful. Synnfjell – also known as the gateway to Jotunheimen – has a gentle, open mountain landscape and panoramic views of towering alpine peaks. It is also within easy reach of Langsua National Park.
Spåtind Muntain Lodge opened its doors for the first time in 1965. It played host to the engagement party of Queen Sonja and King Harald in 1968, and is still a popular mountain wedding venue. The resort has been renovated several times.
The mountain lodge has rooms and apartments, offering modern facilities and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Visitors can choose between spacious family rooms, double rooms, and suites. The resort has a swimming pool, saunas, fitness suite, dance hall, meeting and conference facilities, and a lounge with open fire. It also has a play area for the very young, table tennis, a small cinema and games room, and a TV lounge. The restaurant serves traditional, home-cooked food based on local ingredients as well as other delicacies.
Activities
The choice of activities is vast, summer as well as winter. Spåtind Resort has its own ski centre nearby with children's area, exciting forest runs, terrain park, and standard downhill slopes. Cross-country skiing starts right on the doorstep with access to a 300-kilometre trail network. Ski storage, waxing facilities, and equipment hire are available at the resort. Visitors can also enjoy snowshoeing, kicksledding, and other outdoor pursuits.
In summer and autumn, Synnfjell is popular with mountain biking enthusiasts. There are numerous trails and dirt tracks to choose from, and both hiking and biking routes are way-marked. The highest peak is Spåtind (1414 m a.s.l.). Further down from the resort is Synnfjorden, a lake ideal for paddling and swimming on hot summer days. Along with other lakes in the area, it also offers the opportunity to catch some large brown trout. Spåtind Resort offers canoes, kayaks, and boats for hire. A tennis court is available some 100 metres from the resort. Horseback riding in the mountain is available during summer, and is organised by Hågård Activity and Green Care Farm.
Welcome to the mountain and resort catering for almost every need!
