Easy to get to

The Lillehammer Region have a central location in Norway, it is located along the E6, around 180 kilometres north of Oslo, and is easy to reach by car, train or bus.            

When visiting the region, travelling by bus and train are useful alternatives to using your own car. You can take the train to Lillehammer, Ringebu or Vinstra, and use the bus or rental car to get on. Several of our accommodation providers will pick up at the nearest railway station and/or at other locations if you are arriving by public transport. In winter, there are ski bus services to the region’s alpine centres and the cross-country ski resorts. During the summer months, there are summer bus services to Hunderfossen Adventure Park as well as to Skeikampen, Nordseter, Sjusjøen, and Venabygdsfjellet mountain resorts (along Rondane National Tourist Route).

How to get to Lillehammer?

By air
Oslo Airport Gardermoen is within a 2-hour drive from Lillehammer. All train services between Oslo and Lillehammer, including the Dovrebanen line, will stop at Oslo Airport. There is also a bus service from the airport to Lillehammer and Gudbrandsdalen.

By train
The regional train service between Oslo and Lillehammer offers 14 to 18 daily departures, and some 4 daily departures northbound in Gudbrandsdalen – towards Åndalsnes and Trondheim. 

Lillehammer is the final stop on the stretch "R10" Drammen/Oslo/Oslo Airport/Lillehammer from Oslo, and is an intermediate stop on the “Region” Dovrebanen line direction north in Gudbrandsdalen – with stops at Lillehammer, Hunderfossen, Ringebu, and Vinstra, before continuing north towards Trondheim.
