HalvBirken takes place on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 – and is known for having some of our happiest participants. The race is classic technique, with 10-year age classes and awards for the top three in each category.

The course starts at Sjusjøen Ski Arena and leads you through beautiful mountain terrain before finishing at the Birkebeineren Ski Stadium in Lillehammer. It’s the perfect choice if 53 km feels a bit long, but you still want the full Birken experience in a shorter format.

All participants must be 16 years old by December 31st, 2026, and carry a backpack weighing at least 3.5 kg.
