The Slagsfjell Round (25,2 km)

Beautiful fair-weather trip, leading from the forest to the high mountain and back. Spectacular mountain scenery, with Rondane, Jotunheimen and Langsua National Park as backdrop. Excellent trip in either direction – both with a downhill section at the end.

From Skitorget, follow the cross-country ski trail way - marked Slagsfjellrunden. The trail starts with a climb, and then enters the slightly hilly terrain of the Torsdalen valley. From Gammeldalen, the trail leads up towards the area's highest mountain, Prestkampen, before sloping back down to Skarbua. At the trail junction by Skarbua, go straight ahead and keep west up the hill to Slagsfjellet – the highest point. After the second long downhill section, keep left along the Peer Gynt Route and after a few hundred metres turn right towards Fyksesetra. Continue through Frøysestrene, and then follow the Peer Gynt Route back to start where waffles and coffee are waiting at the ambient Skeisua mountain-farm café or Nystua café.

A challenging trip, suitable for downhill-enthusiasts only.
