In order to provide our visitors with a high-quality and memorable experience, Visit Lillehammer has introduced a programme through which hosts can be recognised as “Adventure Hosts” and “Gudbrandsdalen hosts”.

Pride in sharing information on local culture and history

Everyone working in the tourism industry is offered training courses where they learn about local culture, history and traditions, and are given an insight into how to protect our environment.  This leaves us with knowledgeable and confident hosts who will share information on local culture with pride, and will recommend suitable adventures for our visitors.

Knowledge of each other

The training also focuses on knowledge of each other's businesses. This is essential in order to promote and help strengthen one another. We then get our visitors to stay for longer and experience more of what we have to offer.

Businesses where min. 60% of employees have completed the annual training, will be recognised as accredited hosts.
