About

The mountains are closer than you think. Not far from Lillehammer you can find rounded peaks that offer wide, sweeping views all the way to Rondane and Jotunheimen. The landscape here has been shaped by centuries of summer farming and you’ll still meet grazing sheep with their lambs to this day.

On our guided Mountain Hikes we want to introduce you to Norwegian “friluftsliv”: it’s not about the pace or performance, but about enjoying being outdoors. We’ll take you to our favorite peaks, trails and lakes in the mountains close to Lillehammer. Along the way you will learn about the local plant and wildlife & the region’s history. And of course we always plan enough time for a break and some snacks – because that’s often the best part of a hike.

Location:
The meeting point is at the Langrennsarena in Sjusjøen and easily accessible by public transport & car. Start & length of the activity are adjusted to the bus schedule.

Duration:
ca. 3.5 to 4 hours

Group size:
Max. 10 participants per guide. Bigger groups upon request.

Suitable for:
adults and children from 10 years, perfect for families, couples, a group of friends, or solo travellers. Families with younger children can book a private hike.

Included:
Guide, snacks

Recommendation:
Norwegian weather can be unpredictable & our trails wet and muddy. To stay comfortable and enjoy this activity to the fullest, we recommend dressing in layers that can be adjusted as needed, to wear hiking boots & to bring a waterproof jacket.
