About
A reasonably challenging trip, leading through a birch forest, up into the mountain, and around the Sprenpiggen peak. Can be highly recommended in good weather, and offers spectacular views of Espedalen and towards Jotunheimen. From Dalseter, follow the Peer Gynt Route up through the forest, direction Bingsbu/Sprenpiggen Some climbs along the way. 3.5 km from Dalseter, you will find Svartrabben. Continue straight ahead, direction Bingsbu.
After Svartrabben, you will reach the tree-line and the open mountain terrain. Continue for approx. 2 km through gentle mountain terrain to Bingsbu . Bingsbu ski lounge is open daily, all year round, and is heated from early morning during the winter season.
From Bingsbu, follow signs for Strand Fjellstue. By the signpost marked Sprentjønna, approx. 1.5 km from Bingsbu, turn right and follow the signs for Sprenpiggen Rundt. An easy, gentle section around Sprenpiggen, which, after a slight climb towards the end, leads downhill to the trail between Lohaugen and Bingsbu.
From here, follow the Lohaugen trail. This leads steadily downhill through the birch forest until you reach Lohaugen. From Lohaugen, follow signs for Dalseter. When you pass a sign marked Haugaseter, you are on your way back to Dalseter.
Excellent trip in either direction, but the "easiest" with more downhill than uphill is clockwise. The ski trail is machine groomed and double-tracked.
