“Markers for temporary conversations” by Dyveke Sanne is an artwork comprising two wooden beacon-like structures that are positioned a certain distance apart and communicate with red lights. The sculptures are mobile, and can be moved as new locations for communication and discussions emerge. At the opening of Vegskille in 2017, the beacons, built by Frya Stav & Laft, were positioned at each end of Sundbrua.
The work has an element of continuation in terms of visualisation and context-sharing in a local setting at Vinstra, and the young are invited to explore a community in rapid change.
Dyveke Sanne is a visual artist, and has had a number of commissions for art in public places. She has received several awards, including the 2009 Norwegian Lighting Award for the art project “Perpetual Repercussion” at Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Sanne has worked as lecturer at Oslo National Academy of the Arts for many years, and most recently as professor in Art and Public Space.
