About
The trip to Dørfallet offers beautiful views towards Muen, and the route leads through the Venabygdsfjellet mountain landscape. MTB trail riding along narrow tracks; some technical sections, but mostly flow trails and not particularly hilly. Dørfallet and Dørjuvet are truly spectacular!
Start by the car park at Saltashaugen (the blue tractor at the entrance to Spidsbergseter) – remember to pay for parking.
Spidsbergseter can also be used as starting point. From Saltashaugen, cross the main road to pick up the trail, and then stay on this – it will turn slightly to the right. You will then reach Mya and a large bridge (which you have to cross). From here, follow the track/trail to the left, and stay on this for a few kms without turning onto any other trails. Along this stretch there are some very muddy sections, and to protect nature you should walk instead of riding your bike. After a good flow section, turn right as you reach Brennflya. Here you will find an excellent single-track with quality surface and small, fun bends. When you reach a junction, continue straight ahead. This stretch is in general good condition, but there are some muddy sections. Follow this until the trail widens. Turn left, and you have the option either to cross the stream and continue to Dørfallet (same way back across the stream afterwards), or to follow the way-marked (T) trail leading right. You will then find a few excellent vantage points where you can enjoy Dørjuvet at close range. Follow the way-marked (T) trail until your reach a junction. Turn right towards Veslefjell.
From here, you can include a trip to the Veslefjell peak (with some fun downhill action), or you can ride at the foot of Veslefjell. This trail is wide and in general good condition, but does have some muddy sections. The final stretch to the dirt-road is rocky and somewhat rough. Follow the dirt-road downhill, and continue over the bridge across river Mya (barrier on the bridge – remember to break in time). Follow the dirt-road to the main road, and turn right onto the trail towards Forrestad mountain farm. Just before you reach the mountain farm, cross the road and you will find a good-quality trail. Follow this all the way back to the car park at Saltashaugen, or further on to Spidsbergseter where the trail runs alongside the dirt-road. From Oslo/Lillehammer: 5 km after Ringebu, leave the E6 at Frya and turn right towards Venabygdsfjellet/route 27. Continue for 20 km, and follow sign for Spidsbergseter.
