From Ruten, follow the trail down to Elgtårnet in Espedalen. Just before you reach the tower there is a track down to Olstappen. Follow this and turn right onto the dirt-road.
Stay on this road until you reach route 255, and then turn right to head back to the starting point. Lake Ramstjern, further down from the tower, is great for swimming. There is also a trail leading down to Espefossen waterfall. For a longer trip, cross route 255 after the ride along Olstappen and continue towards Skåbubaklia.
After approx. 1 km, turn right towards the Øybekklia cabin area and follow the dirt-road to Langtjønna. Then continue on the tractor track between Langtjønna and Høgtjønna. At Hulderbu, turn right and go downhill until you reach route 255.
Turn left and head back to the starting point. There are several opportunities along the way to extend the trip. "
