The Lillehammer region offers a wide range of activities and attractions for both young and old. In February, visitors can enjoy Hunderfossen Winter Park – a magical family experience amidst fairytales, snow, and ice. Among the attractions are Scandinavia's southernmost snow hotel and an ice cathedral with spectacular artworks made of ice and snow. In the enchanting Troll Forest, there are witches working their magic. Hunderfossen Winter Park offers activities ranging from tobogganing and children's snowmobiles, to cosy indoor adventures in the Fairytale Castle, Caprino's Fairytale Grotto and the Trollfallet challenge. 

Lillehammer town centre is considered one of Norway's most picturesque shopping centres. With its idyllic wooden town houses, it is an experience in its own right. Charming, listed old buildings provide the framework for a modern and friendly shopping experience – with welcoming cafés and restaurants, and outlets to cater for every age group.

At Maihaugen, the whole family can enjoy a day out in safe and beautiful surroundings. In this idyllic, traditional open-air museum, children can roam free and explore the old and new buildings. If conditions are right, we recommend borrowing a kicksled – the best mode of transport on a sparkling winter's day.
