This is a trail suitable for all! Ideal for young children who would like to ski the full stretch themselves, for the family, and for those out to enjoy a short, pleasant ski trip. Leads through sheltered terrain; ideal for days when weather conditions are poor. Fun downhill sections!
From the starting point, ski north-east across Årvillingen towards what is locally known as the "Finn Jensen slope”. This is a short, but steep, downhill section. Ideal length for climbing back up, just to ski down once more – particularly for the youngsters. This spot also offers panoramic views of the Rondane massif – the majestic mountain peaks towering over the snow-clad landscape.
Follow the trail towards Hovde. Continue up through the forest were you will find several excellent spots to take a break, perhaps under a pine tree, and enjoy an orange and a hot chocolate. From Hovde, the trail drops gently down to Hovdemyra march.
As you cross Hovdemyra you are out in the open and are more exposed to the weather, but you will soon reach the forest as you continue back to Årvillingen. The terrain is then easy and relatively flat until you are back at the Finn Jensen slope.
Maybe one more trip downhill?
