Gålå

Gålå is a village in the municipality of Sør-Fron, in the central part of Gudbrandsdalen. It is located in the heart of the world of Peer Gynt – on a mountain plateau, 930 m above sea level – and is renowned for its winter sports activities and for its Peer Gynt play held every summer.

Gålå offers excellent cross-country ski trails, alpine skiing, and a stunning mountain landscape ideal for walks and mountain biking during summer and autumn. The Peer Gynt route is open during summer, and leads past Gålå.

Gålå’s cross-country ski trails are of high quality, and forms part of the region’s 630 km trail network. 

Vinstra, famous for its Peer Gynt connection, is the nearest town.
