Local food in Hafjell – made from scratch

At Nermo Hotell in Øyer, the food is rooted in the farm, the mountains and the Gudbrandsdalen valley. Travellers have been welcomed with food and lodging here since 1877, and guests have dined in Restaurant Nermostuene since the main building was completed in 1933.

Restaurant Nermostuene

At Nermostuene, the food is made from scratch using ingredients from our own farm and the local area. The moose comes from the mountains, the mountain pigs roam outdoors behind the hotel, herbs are picked from the garden, stocks are made from bones and vegetables, and the bread is baked the same morning. The menu features Norwegian flavours, seasonal ingredients and classics such as moose patties and the house apple cake.

Summer barbeque on the terrace

In summer, we move much of the cooking out onto the terrace, fire up our Yoder Smoker and serve grilled meats from our own farm, chicken and vegetables from the garden. All with a delicate smoky flavour, evening sun and views over the Gudbrandsdal valley

The grill is open every day from 5:30pm unntil Sunday August 16th.

Wine cellar and food experiences

Beneath the restaurant is Nermo’s own wine cellar, perfect for small private tastings and wine dinners. Here, the kitchen can pair food and wine for private parties, groups and guests looking for a special dining experience.

Vidsyn at the top of Hafjell

Nermo also runs Restaurant Vidsyn at the top of Hafjell. Here, local food from the same kitchen is served with panoramic views of the Gudbrandsdalen valley. Vidsyn is open during the winter season and is well suited for lunch, groups, private parties and events.
