Synnfjell and Spåtind Cross-country Skiing Destination

Synnfjell is a stunningly beautiful and diverse mountain area between Lillehammer and Valdres, and is perfect for cross-country skiing. This varied scenery has over 350 km of groomed trails covering everything from beautiful forest terrain to spectacular and pristine mountain plateaus. There are groomed trails all the way up to the highest peak, Spåtindtoppen, at 1414 m above sea level – a popular destination, with panoramic views of Jotunheimen, Rondane, Dokkadalen, and Randsfjorden. Snow conditions are excellent, and the outdoor experiences on offer are many and diverse.

Dog sledding is a popular pursuit in Synnfjell, and every year in January the area plays host to the Mush Synnfjell dog race.

Langsua National Park, with its eastern Norwegian forest and low-mountain landscape, is close by and is open to the public. A ski trip across plateaus in this gateway to Jotunheimen comes highly recommended.
