The hotel is located on the historic Storgaten in Lillehammer, beautifully nestled between the beautiful artisan buildings. These distinctive low wooden houses are an attraction in themselves! Lillehammer's most popular attractions, such as the Lillehammer Art Museum, Lillehammer Olympic Park and Hunderfossen Family Park, are all within easy reach of the hotel. The city is perhaps Norway's largest skiing paradise with several miles of prepped and illuminated cross-country ski trails. The city even hosted the Winter Olympics in 1994. The Hafjell Ski Centre is just 15 minutes’ drive from the hotel, while you can reach Kvitfjell is about an hour.

The hotel building also has a long and exciting history – back in the 19th century, merchant and politician Thorstein Lunde started textile production here, and the area later became an established marketplace as a result. Lunde would play an important role in Lillehammer and would subsequently became the city's mayor. During the 20th century, the famous Lunde furniture was produced here in the city.
