About
When you stay in a dome, you can enjoy the comfort of a real bed while still feeling close to nature.
The domes are located on our farm, close to the main house and near our sheep grazing areas. During your stay, you will experience both farm life and close encounters with the animals.
We have two domes on the farm. The domes are built as large, sturdy tents with windows. The walls consist of two layers of canvas, offering protection from the weather and wind, although they provide limited insulation. Large windows give you spectacular views of the Gudbrandsdalen valley, with the river winding below and mountains rising above, as well as a direct view of the sky overhead.
Both domes are situated on elevated terraces with glass railings, allowing you to fully enjoy the panoramic views across the valley.
Each dome is furnished with a large double bed, a seating area (a sofa or armchairs with a table) for two to three guests, and a chest of drawers containing glasses, tableware, and cutlery, as well as space for your personal belongings.
The domes do not have electricity or running water. On dark evenings, you will find plenty of candles available, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere. Water and toilet facilities are available in the bathroom nearby.
Staying in the Dome Throughout the Four Seasons
We welcome guests in our domes all year round. We do not recommend overnight stays when temperatures fall below -10 to -12°C, although this is ultimately up to each guest. Please note that the domes are not insulated, so indoor temperatures will be cooler during cold weather. We therefore encourage guests to check the weather forecast and pack appropriate clothing.
Spring and autumn can bring highly variable conditions. Some days can be cold, making the experience feel almost like a winter stay, while others can be as warm and pleasant as midsummer. In spring, the lighter evenings make it wonderful to sit outdoors and admire the valley views. In autumn, as the nights grow darker, it is especially cozy to retreat into the dome, light the wood-burning stove, and gaze out at the darkness and star-filled sky.
Summer offers long, bright evenings and short nights. It is the perfect time to sit outside the dome and enjoy the peace, quiet, and beautiful scenery late into the evening.
A winter stay in the dome is a truly special experience. The wood-burning stove provides both warmth and a cozy atmosphere. We also provide blankets and sheepskins to keep you warm and comfortable. During the day, you can admire the sparkling winter landscape of Gudbrandsdalen, while at night you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the stars above.
